Official Capacity
| This section is specifically for individuals acting in an official capacity. You must not register as a police officer if you are a civilian. The I.P address of the computer is logged. Police staff and official civilians may register in an official capacity as long as it is clear that you are not a serving police officer. For security purposes we may call the station or office to verify rank or position. Special Facilities Official Capacity Status allows you to use an advanced search facility as well as a Police Log Number search facility and view a Reported Items List. |

| For example, a member of the public may bring in an item that has already been reported lost/stolen and a log number attributed. Simply type in the log number exactly and it will provide full details of the item and a message link in order that you may contact the owner. You will not have access to their email address but they will be able to reply to yours. When a Listkeeper member reports an item lost or stolen to the Police, the system asks for the Police Log Number when they record it as lost/stolen with Listkeepers. |
